Mr. Victor R. Valerio, 91, formerly of Manhattan, NY, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Peter's University Hospital under the care of Seasons Hospice. He was born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he came to the United States, settling in Manhattan many years ago.
He worked as a wood craftsman for Naberto's Woodcraft in New York for many years. Victor was a very handy man, who kept himself busy at all times. Upon coming to live with his daughter, Margarita, Victor would keep up with little projects inside and outside of her house.
Whenever he could, the Dominoes table was always set up and ready to have a game. Victor loved to challenge his late wife, Mercedes to a game. He also enjoyed an icy cold beer, his favorite being "Presidente".
He also enjoyed traveling to many places with Mercedes. Victor absolutely loved to take his "siesta" everyday.
One of Victor's flaws was in his younger years, he "loved his women", however after marrying his late wife Mercedes, she definitely settled him for his own good.
Predeceased by his parents, Rafael E. Cepeda, Ana Luisa Valerio, his son Peter Valerio, his second wife the late Mercedes Parra Valerio, Victor leaves behind to carry on his legacy his children, Margarita Grullon, Victor T. Valerio, Rosa Valerio and Victor E, Valerio, his grandchildren, Monica Valerio, Michael, Michele and Andrew Ezekiel, Christine, Valerio, Peter Valerio, Vinny Valerio, Kyle Valerio, Samuel, Ana, Anthony and Christopher Johnson, his 12 great grandchildren, his sisters, Candida Lucrecia Valerio, Fermina, Fellita, Esther, Rafaela and Yolanda.
Cremation was held privately. The family invites you to attend the Memorial Gathering and Service on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1 - 3 pm at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
