Mr. Vicente A. Torres, 78, formerly of New Brunswick, NJ passed away at the NewarkBeth Israel Medical Center on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Born and raised in Manacla, Dominican Republic, he came to New Brunswick in 1979 . Vicente has lived the pat three years in East Orange, NJ.
In his earlier years, Vicente worked the farms in Manacla, DR, where to this day he had many connections. He loved animals. Upon his arrival in the United States, he was employed by Rotor Clip in Somerset, NJ for many years. Vicente wanted to be an entrepreneur, so for a few years he was an owner of a Liquor Store in Jersey City.
He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and was a Dominoes player.
Vicente was predeceased by his parents Rafael N. and Maria C. (Esteves) Torres and his son Fernando. He is survived by his loving wife Elena Torres, his devoted children Leonardo, Jose Rafael, Hilario A., Eduardo, Jorge L., Eddy, Nancy M., Arelis, Marlene and Virlena, bonus children Claribel Torres, Wandely Torres, Yaribel and Joel, his dear siblings Marcos Esteves, Belisa Torres, Juana Torres and Altagracia Torres. Vicente was the most loving and cherished grandfather of 30 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Wednesday, February 20, 20129 from 5 - 9 pm. Funeral mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin RC Church, (Parish of the Visitation), Remsen Avenue, New Brunswick, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10 am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
