Valentin "Tole" Guzman-Perez, 63, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, he came with his family to the United States at the age of 9. The family settled in New Brunswick, NJ.
Valentin was a very talented landscaper, who loved being outdoors working. He was also a handyman and did carpentry.
Always a happy person, he loved to read, travel and truly enjoyed church. Tole, as he was known by many, was a strong minded and courageous person. He navigated through life being very resourceful and a humble person.
His daughter, Zoraida remembers his love to sing, his ability to play the guitar and reading his Bible. She also said he would talk to everyone and make them laugh all the the time. Tole was a generous person always helping others.
Tole will be missed by many, especially his beloved mother, Guillermina, his "madrecita", his loving daughter, Zoraida Guzman, his cherished grandsons, Isaiah, Elaih and Nasir George, his great granddaughter, Aniyah George and two grandchildren on the way, his dear brothers and sisters, Andres, Miguel, Edwin, Isaac, Aida, Paula, Liduvina, Consuelo, Esther and Elizabeth Guzman. He was predeceased by his father , Maximino.
Visitation will take place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10 am - 12 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm. Interment in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defer the cost of the funeral.
After the services the family asks that family and friends join them for the repast at the Franklin Eagles, 99 Ray Street #95, Somerset, NJ 08873.
