Thomas Ernesto Ortiz, 47, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and grew up in the New Brunswick area before moving to Parlin.
Thomas had been employed by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital as a nurse for 25 years.
He was a kind hearted and funny person. Being around family and friends gave him a great sense of happiness. Thomas loved to take care of his mother, whom he treated like a queen.
Thomas had an insatiable love for airplanes. He would take his nieces and nephews to the airport just to watch the planes take off and land. Thomas wished he could have been a pilot.
He is survived by his father, Senen Ortiz and his mother, Mariana Algaba Ortiz, his brother, Senen Ortiz, Jr., his sister, Maritza Lauriano, his godson-nephew, Christian Medrano and his nieces, Christina,Medrano, Amaris Ortiz and Tyana Ortiz.
Visiting will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 7-9 pm at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 8:45 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 75 Morris Street, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, New runswick, NJ.
