Mrs. Theresa E. Miller

November 9, 1919 — August 15, 2013

North Brunswick, NJ
Theresa E. (nee Fekete) Miller, 93 passed away on August 15, 2013 at St. Peters University Hospital. Theresa was the wife of the late Edward B. Miller and daughter of the late Elizabeth (Sima) and Andrew Fekete.

Theresa attended St. Ladislaus Grammar School and New Brunswick High School. As a lifelong member of St. Ladislaus Church she was always active in helping with promoting the school fund raisers. In 1940 she married the love of her life “Eddie” who always called her “Hon” and gave her big “Hollywood” kisses.

For a number of years she worked for the Board of Elections in Perth Amboy and New Brunswick and Symphonic in New Brunswick. Theresa was an avid reader and she loved to travel – she even rode a camel in Egypt! When her husband Ed was alive she loved to dance and they could be seen frequently at Church dances and the HAAC.

She had many friends and they could always be found in her kitchen with the coffee pot brewing and was a Cub Scout leader for her son's troop, holding meetings in their basement. Theresa was still working as an active Avon Representative, going onto 55 years with the company. However, her favorite activity was was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who visited with her often. In her later years she was a member of the New Brunswick Senior Citizens, holding many offices and planned many of their holiday activities for the Wednesday Club. After moving to North Brunswick 7 years ago she became a member of the No. Brunswick Seniors.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Edward B. Miller, an infant son and her brother William, “Bill” Fekete. Surviving are a daughter Darlene T. Mumber and her husband Richard, and son, Edward Brian Miller. Also surviving are grandchildren Pegeen Elyse Mumber of Piscataway, Kathleen Renee Fiala and her husband Karl of Middlesex and Richard David Mumber, who always referred to Mom as “My Little Smurfette” and wife Kelly of Manville. Six great grandchildren (who affectionately called her “G.G. Mom”) also survive, including Darlene Elyse Marie Van Clief, Christopher Ryan Fiala, Lauren Nicole Fiala, Michael Anthony Fiala, Mason Kennedy Mumber and Derek Alexander Mumber. They all loved to hear GG Mom's stories about “when she was young”.
She is also survived by in-laws Theodore “Ted” Miller, Anna Pisciotta, and Olga Miller, all of No. Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.

The family wants to extend its deep love and gratitude to our Kelly, “Bunny” as Mom called her, for care, love and support to all of us. She is our “Angel of Hope”. To Janelle, who so lovingly gave Mom her twice weekly “Wash and Wax”, and to Peg who was more than just a “Visiting Nurse” - she gave Mom special care and support.

Family and friends may call at the Gowen Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick on Sunday, August 18th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ladislaus RC Church, 215 Somerset Street, New Brunswick on Monday, August 19th at 10am. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick
