Shirley (Gushin) Vajda,92, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Francis Parker Home at Landings Lane, New Brunswick,NJ. Born in Linden, NJ, raised in Roselle, NJ, she had lived in New Brunswick, Highland Park and retired to Monroe Township, NJ and spent the winter months in Las Vegas, NV.
Shirley was an avid majong player. With her husband Andrew, she spent many years traveling around the world with their friends.
She was the former President of the Sisterhood of Congregation Ohav Emeth in Highland Park.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents Hyman and Fanny Gushin and is survived by her loving husband Andrew, with whom she celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past year, her devoted children Freddy Vajda and his wife Deborah, Georgene Lefkowits and Phyllis Vajda, her cherished grandchildren Jeremy, Zachary, Erica, Sandra and Jenna and her seven great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery, Georges Road, New Brunswick, NJ on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:30am.
