Sharon Charzewski, 70, passed away surrounded by members of her family in the early hours of Saturday morning, May 8, 2021.
Predeceased by her parents John and Harriet LaDuca, and her husband, Richard Charzewski, she is survived by her loving children Amy and her husband Brian Cordes, of Manalapan, NJ; Kyle P. Charzewski and his wife Cristin, of Somerset, NJ., her dear sister Karen LaDuca, of Franklin Park, and her cherished grandchildren Hunter Tyler and Ashlyn Alexis Cordes.
She was born in New Brunswick, NJ, grew up in Edison and Somerset until marrying her husband of 42 years and starting their family in North Brunswick and continuing to grow their family in the Deans section of South Brunswick, where they had lived since 1977 until Richard’s death in 2017.
Sharon was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1968. She attended Middlesex County College to get her Registered Nursing Degree in 1970. After graduation she went on to work in Middlesex General Hospital as an RN, taught at the East Brunswick Nursing Votech school, was a substitute nurse for the South Brunswick Board of Education, and was also a volunteer nurse for the Franklin High School Golden Warrior Band.
Sharon was an involved PTA parent and president at Amy and Kyle’s schools, a proud band parent, and led and volunteered for multiple charitable organizations including: Muscular Dystrophy Association, Deborah Heart Fund, Lions Club, American Legion- Ladies Auxiliary, and the Moose Lodge.
Sharon was a selfless and devout mother, sister, and wife. She could often be found with her children and grandchildren running to various activities and playing an active role in her local community and spending her time with friends and family. Her favorite moments were going for “drives” with her family to “see the sights”, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoying family meals.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick on Wednesday, May 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Her burial will also be held at Crabiel Parkwest at 11 am on Thursday, May 13th. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ.
