Ruth Fischer

Ruth Maslow Fischer was born on June 27, 1931 to Lily and Harry Maslow. She married the love of her life, Marvin Fischer, on June 14, 1953. They had three children, Michael (Cheryl Farr) Fischer, Cathi Fischer, and Wendy Fischer; five grandchildren, Brian (Sarah Dahms) Fischer, Julie (Jordan) Boehler, Jessica Leff, Sarah Leff, and Lexi Nicodemus; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Fischer, Fiona Fischer, and Lily Boehler. Ruth is remembered be those who loved her as someone who made family the center of her life. She was always proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, celebrating them with joy and loving attendance even when that became more difficult in later life. She was generous with both her love and material resources. Her grandchildren remember her sense of humor and the comfort she brought to each of them. Her daughter-in-law, her granddaughter-in-law, and grandson-in-law all felt treated as if they were her own children and grandchildren.

She was an avid reader who shared her love of books with her children. She was a leader in local PTA organizations and was an active contributor to Hadassah. She was a creative potter, loved travel, and was a loyal friend.

She will be missed.
