Nicolas Cotto Mendoza, 69, passed away at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Atlantic City, NJ on the morning of Friday, September 6, 2019. He was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico and came to the Hamilton, NJ area in 1974. Nicolas has been a longtime resident of New Brunswick, NJ.
Nicolas, while living in Puerto Rico, earned equivalent to an Associates Degree. Upon completion of his schooling he was employed as a Narcotics Detective in Puerto Rico. Nicolas did volunteer farm work for everyone in Puerto Rico. When he moved to the United States, he was employed many years with Willet Ceramic Company. He was also a Maintenance Man for Rutgers University for years.
Nicolas enjoyed music, singing, and loved to watch his "Yankees" on TV.
He was always very attentive and caring towards his family and friends. They always came first before himself.
Nicolas was predeceased by his parents Arcadia and Isabel (Mendoza) Cotto and is survived by his wife Sarah (Reyes) Cotto, his children, Maria Isabel, Nicole, Josue and Raquel Cotto, his brothers and sisters, Martin, Orlando, Virginia, Maria and Nasaria Cotto, his four grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, 6 -9 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Funeral Blessing on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
