She is predeceased by her parents Charlie and Christina Sellers, her beloved husband of 50 years Willie Lee James, her loving daughter, Delores James Glover, her sisters Earnestine Brown, Eloise Edwards, Mary Harvey and her brother Tony Nail. Those surviving her are her youngest brother Charles Sellers (Sheila), her children, Willie James (Lisa), Jaqueline (Lester McKenzie), Tony James (Angela), Derek James (Sandra), Walter James and Sanford and Amanda James), her cherished 52 grandchildren, (way too many to name), 18 great grandchildren, her goddaughter Danyelle Barnes and a host of relatives and friends. We will all miss you dearly. No more pain, Mommy!
Mary L. James was a very loyal person to those she came in contact with throughout her life. She will go out of her way to sit and talk to you if you had problems. Mary loved life. She was funny, too. At the time of her acting funny and laughing, she was always listening. So try to get smart and with a smile. Mary will put you straight.

THE COOK IN MOMMY
Mary was an avid cook. Everybody knows Mrs. James' chicken. She served as a cook for the Lord Stirling School for 30 years. She loved to feed people.

THE WIFE
Mary was a loving wife to her lifelong husband, Willie Lee James. They did everything that they had to do to get us all where we sit and stand today. Mary absolutely loved her husband.

THE GRANDMOTHER IN HER
She was the best grandma anyone could ask for. If you needed Mommy for anything, Mary would do whatever she could to help. Her heart was set on each and everyone of her grandchildren. She loved you all.

THE GREAT GRANDMA
As great grandmother, Mommy never lost a step. She is as great a grandmother as she was a mother and grandma.

THE AUNTIE
They all called her Auntie Diane. She loved you all. Mary absolutely adored family reunions where we all got together and enjoyed each of us and Mary.

THE FRIEND
Mary was a friend to all she encountered. Her favorite saying was, "You can't keep a person down unless you plan on being down with them."

THE MATRIARCH
She wanted us all to love one another and care for one anotber. Not just now, but all the time.

Her words will never be forgotten. Her love will always safeguard our lives, her laugh will assure you of great things to come.

WE LOVE YOU, MOMMY!
