Mr. Marvin Jay Fischer

August 3, 1929 - April 30, 2022

Marvin J. Fischer was born on August 3, 1929 to Shevelin and David Fischer. On June 14, 1953, he married the love of his life, Ruth Maslow Fischer, who preceded him in death in April, 2021. They had three children, Michael (Cheryl Farr) Fischer, Cathi Fischer, and Wendy Fischer; five grandchildren, Brian Fischer, Julie (Jordan) Boehler, Jessica Leff, Sarah Leff, and Lexi Nicodemus; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Fischer, Fiona Fischer, and Lily Boehler. He is also survived by his “ much younger sister” Joan Fischer Butwin. Marvin is remembered by those who loved him as someone who excelled at telling stories and playing music. He combined these skills in his retirement by playing the piano and telling stories about songs and songwriters at local senior centers, and he was a popular performer. He enjoyed traveling with his friends and seeing new places. In his retirement, he also was active in the book group at the Monroe Township Library. Marvin was always proud of the accomplishments of each of his family members, celebrating events both big and small with joy and loving attentiveness. His grandchildren remember his love of music, his sense of humor, his generosity and his warm and caring nature. He will be deeply missed.
