Maria E. Vargas Guzman, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in New Brunswick on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Maria was born and raised in Lima, Peru, coming to the United States twenty two years ago.
She worked as a Pharmacy Technician for the Ministry of Health in Lima, Peru for many years before retiring.
Maria loved to travel with her family to many places in the United States and enjoyed her two grandchildren immensely. She had a great interest in baking and was known by her family for her baking ability, especially her Flan and Cakes.
She was predeceased by her parents Roberto Vargas and Olga Guzman and is survived by her beloved husband William Atahualpa, her loving son Cristhian Atahualpa, her cherished grandchildren, William and Viviana, dear sisters and brothers in Peru.
Visitation took place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 6 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 12 pm at Holy Family Parish - Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church on Throop Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
María E. Vargas Guzmán, de 61 años, falleció pacíficamente en su casa en New Brunswick el miércoles 17 de febrero de 2021. María nació y se crió en Lima, Perú, y llegó a los Estados Unidos hace veintidós años.
Trabajó como Técnica de Farmacia para el Ministerio de Salud en Lima, Perú durante muchos años antes de jubilarse.
A María le encantaba viajar con su familia a muchos lugares de los Estados Unidos y disfrutaba inmensamente con sus dos nietos. Tenía un gran interés en hornear y su familia la conocía por su habilidad para hornear, especialmente sus Flan y Pasteles.
Murió antes que sus padres Roberto Vargas y Olga Guzmán y le sobreviven su amado esposo William Atahualpa, su amado hijo Cristhian Atahualpa, sus queridos nietos, William y Viviana, queridos hermanos y hermanas en Perú.
El velorio tuvo lugar en la capilla funeraria de Crabiel Parkwest, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, Nueva Jersey el lunes 22 de febrero de 2021 de 6 a 9 pm. La misa fúnebre se celebrará el martes 23 de febrero de 2021 a las 12 pm en Holy Family Parish - Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church en Throop Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ a las 12 pm. Seguirá el sepelio en Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick, Nueva Jersey.
