Mrs. Maria T. Ramirez

Maria Teresa Ramirez (Rivera) 89, of North Brunswick, NJ passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2021. The daughter of Dolores and Guillermo Rivera, Maria “Tere” as she was known to family and “Little Maria” to friends was born on February 3, 1932, in Piña, Puerto Rico. She is predeceased by her: parents; brother, Guillermo; twin sister, Carmen; husband, Juan Luis and her son, Juan.
Tere was well loved and respected by anyone she crossed paths with. Her compassionate spirit was undeniable. You may have entered her home with nothing but certainly never left the same way. She made sure your belly was full and your hands were clasping the banana, the muffin, the old peppermint at the bottom of her purse or her last dollar. But you never left empty handed.
Many people owe their success to Tere. If you needed a place to stay to get back on your feet, she took you in no questions asked. And on that day, you were part of the family. She encouraged them and supported them when no one else would. Everyone was welcome, everyone could say that this was Home.
Tere is survived by her: daughter, Maria; son, Luis, and her nephew Oliverto Agosto “Junior” who was always more like a son than a nephew. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
