Pastror Jose Cruz, 55, of Ministerio Internacional El Gran Yo Soy Church, has passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born and raised in Tela, Honduras,coming to the United States twenty five years ago. Pastor spent several years living in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick.
He was employed by Keurig-Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group in their New Brunswick location as a Batch Mixer. For an interim, while the Group was relocating to Carteret, Jose worked for Johnston Control.
A man of integrity, humility and faith, Pastor Jose began his ministry as a Deacon and President of the Missions Board of the Assemblies of God. In 2013 , he opened the Ministerio Internacional El Gran Yo Soy Church in North Brunswick. His passion was missionary work. He traveled several times with his family to Honduras and Guatemala to preach and work with children. Pastor did counseling work as well with married couples regarding life's stresses.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Rosalina (Garrido Orellana) Cruz, his loving children Jennifer, Rene, Julissa, Maryane and Nathalie, his cherished grandson Julian and his dear brothers Rolando and Gilmer.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 6-10 pm at the Eternal Life Christian Center, 322 Franklin Boulevard, Somerset, NJ.
Interment services will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 10:45 am at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, NJ.
