Irwin Math, 87, passed away after a brief illness at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, he came to live in New Jersey in 1957. For the past 15 years, Irwin had resided in Princeton Junction, NJ.
Irwin earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from City College of New York in 1954, and a Masters in Accounting in 1958. He passed his certified public accounting boards and began working in an accounting firm. Many years ago Irwin and his partners formed Drucker, Math & Whitman, PA in East Brunswick. Irwin retired from the firm in 2016 and has been keeping up with many of his clients until his passing.
Irwin was a member of professional CPA organizations for many years. He was a famous stamp collector and was well known for his shows and pre-Israel-Palestine stamps. Irwin also enjoyed building model radio-control airplanes.
Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Rose (Herman) Math and his son Sam Math, he is survived by his wife of 64 years whom he adored, Sandra (Bernstein) Math, his daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Robert Bross and his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Kim Math, his grandchildren Zachary and his wife Sara, Ari, Alex, Jada and Sophie and his brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Golde Math.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11 am at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment to follow at Floral Park Cemetery, Deans,(South Brunswick Township), NJ.
