Eugene I. Pressing, 95, passed away at the Somerset Woods Rehab and Nursing Center on Saturday, November 4, 2017. He was born in Turje, Hungary. Eugene escaped from Hungary in 1956 after the Revolution. He spent 8 months in Austria, then came to the United States settling in New York in 1957. After a year, he moved to New Brunswick and in 1964 he moved to Somerset.
Eugene was employed by Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson, in Somerville, where he was the Manager of Central Machine Shop.
He was a lifelong member of St. Ladislaus RC Church, (Holy Family Parish), New Brunswick, since 1958. Eugene served as President of the Church Council, a member of the church choir and was a very active church member.
Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Elizabeth (Gonbesi) Pressing and all of his brothers and sisters, he is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth ( Szenesy), his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Stephanie, his cherished grandchildren, Corinne, Danielle and Owen and his dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gabor and Maria Mertl, and several nieces and nephews. Eugene will be sadly missed also by his many good friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11 am at St. Ladislaus RC Church, (Holy Family Parish), 215 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ.
In lieu of flowers. memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Parish, 56 Throop Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
