Esperanza C. (Barriendos) Ruiz, 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. She was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Esperanza came to the Miami, FL in 1990 and a year later she made her permanent residence in New Brunswick.
Esperanza was a very educated person, she received her Bachelor's Degree from the Instituto de Senoritas Normal Mixta in Honduras. After graduation, she was employed as the Personal Secretary to Nora de Melgar, First Lady of Honduras for 25 years. She then took on the role of homemaker. Esperanza enjoyed working with her daughter in her cleaning business.
Esperanza loved music, walking, cooking and her trips to the grocery store were a highlight of her day. She kept in touch at all times with her family and extended family and was a very generous person.
She was an amazing mom, grandmother and mother-in-law and will be deeply missed by all. Predeceased by her parents Fernando Barriendos and Dominga Sierra, her husband Justo Luis Ruiz, she is survived by her children Wendy Bonia and Mauricio Bonia, her grandchildren Carlos, Christian, Diego, Brittany, Mauricio and Kenny Bonia, her great grandchildren Arianna Rivera, Jaylen, London and Nathan Zuniga and Alexander Bonia, her sisters Maria and Liliana Barriendos.
Visitation will take place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, Nj on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6-9 pm. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, NJ.
