North Brunswick – Dorothy Weiss passed away on September 8, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 92 years old.
Dorothy was born in Queens, NY and spent many years residing in Highland Park before moving to North Brunswick 39 years ago.
Dorothy and her husband Herbert Weiss (pre-deceased in 1979) ran Dunhill Furniture with locations in Edison and Piscataway, NJ. For many years, she devoted her time to various charitable organizations, most notably Deborah Hospital, for which she was an active fundraiser.
Predeceased by her parents David and Eva (Glick) Berkowitz, her husband Herbert, (1979) and her son Neil, (2005), Dorothy is survived by her two daughters Gail (Weiss) Bergstein of North Brunswick and Cindy Weiss Drankoski of Somers, NY; four grandchildren including Heather Robin Bergstein of Manhattan, Jamie Anne Bergstein of East Brunswick, Dustin H. Weiss Drankoski and his wife Carly McCollow of Brooklyn, and Jordan Davida Drankoski of Los Angeles; and her great-grandson Micah Sampson Nahum of Manhattan.
Prrivate services for the family will be held on Wednesday, September 12. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
