Mrs Carmen Luisa Claudio

December 8, 1942 — February 19, 2021

Carmen Louisa Claudio, born on December 8th, 1942, was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Pablo Rivera and Ramona Rodriguez. She met her husband when she moved to New Brunswick, NJ at the age of 21. Carmen was with her loving husband, Victor Claudio, for 57 years. They created a beautiful life and family.

Although she only birthed 4, Carmen had 5 beautiful children. Violet Rivera- Castro (Rafael Castro), Alberto Claudio (Janice Claudio), Diana Claudio, Marilyn Claudio (Derrick Williams), and her granddaughter, Najea Claudio, who she raised as her own daughter. Carmen had 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Carmen worked at and retired from St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She worked there for 12 years, establishing a great work ethic and history and creating great memories and friendships. After retirement,
she continued on being the family caretaker and matriarch for years to come.

Carmen had a love for God like no other. Her faith was very high, and she had a strong love and connection with the Lord. In her free time, Carmen enjoyed going to church, praying, spending time with her family, shopping, gardening, and cooking. She always cooked enough for the neighborhood to eat, gaining the title of the neighborhood "mama".

Carmen was the Matriarch of the Claudio family. She always tried to ensure that the family new and loved each other. She brought everyone together and taught everyone how to love and what the meaning of family was.

Carmen was pre-deceased by her parents (Pablo and Ramona Rivera), her brother and sisters (Luis, Rosa, Chepa, Maria, and Modesta) and her daughter, Diana. She leaves behind her loving husband, Victor, her children, Violet, Alberto, Marilyn, and Najea, her brothers and sister, Pepe, Robin, and Emma, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and associates.

To know Carmen was to Love her. She had a heart of gold. She will truly be missed by her family and loved ones.
