Beatrice (Neidorf) Beck, 96, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Newark, NJ. For the past 65 years, Beatrice had been living in Highland Park, NJ.
Graduate of Douglass College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, she had taught first grade in Highland Park schools for 25 years. After retirement, Beatrice spent her time as a docent at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers for 21 years. Until her passing, she was very involved with the Alumnae Association of Douglass College. Beatrice was currently the secretary of her graduating class.
Even at the age of 96, Beatrice made sure she went to the "gym" for her physical therapy at least three times a week. She was still a very independent person, living on her own as well. Beatrice was a voracious reader and extremely intelligent person, who enjoyed going to and being a member of her local book club. She also loved gardening and spending her winter months in Florida.
She was a longtime member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple & Congregation Anshe Emeth.
Predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, her son William and her husband Aaron, Beatrice is survived by her sons, Richard Beck and wife Teri, and Larry Beck and wife Anna; her grandchildren, Julie (Beck) Silver and husband Andrew Silver, Jerry Beck, Christina Beck, and Zachary Beck; and her great-grandson, Reid Silver.
Funeral Service was held at the Highland Park Conservative Temple & Congregation Anshe Emeth, Highland Park, on Friday, November 23, 2018. The interment followed in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, the Iselin section of Woodbridge, NJ.
