Arleen Jean Talerico,74, of North Brunswick died Wednesday at her residence. Born in Jersey City, she grew up in Union City and North Bergen before moving to North Brunswick in 1964. A very stylish and elegant lady, Arleen had been employed as an Executive Secretary for Condenser Services of Hoboken, NJ, where she met her husband, married him and became a homemaker.
Mrs. Talerico enjoyed bowling and had participated in several leagues at Carolier Lanes, North Brunswick for many years. Arleen had been an "Avon Lady" for several years after moving to North Brunswick and also donated her time delivering "Meals on Wheels" in between running all over keeping involved in her sons' extra curricular pursuits. Before she married, she was a member of the Lutheran Church of North Bergen, NJ and had served as a Sunday school teacher at the church. Arleen was also seen dancing on "American Bandstand" in her youth.
Daughter of the late William and Gladys Schoener, Mrs. Talerico is survived by her husband of 53 years, James J.; her devoted sons: James , of Denton, TX, and his girlfriend, Faith Edwin, of Dallas, TX,; Mark and his wife Irene, of Howell, NJ; Craig and his wife Noel, of Milltown and Jason, of North Brunswick; and the light of her life-her four grandchildren: Kelly, Nicole, CJ and Kyle Talerico.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Monday, August 5th in the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Her entombment will follow at the Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, North Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, August 4th from 4-7 pm.
